1948 - St. Vincent Orphanage Asylum
The Roman Catholic Church

Many long-time Northeast neighborhood residents remember when the orphanage stood on the corner of 4th and Edgewood Street. St. Vincent's acted as a Catholic School in addition to housing orphans. Edgewood Terrace resident, Arsena Perry, recalls that she first became familiar with the property when she started taking her son to school at St. Vincent's. Ms. Perry moved into Edgewood Terrace in 1972 and still lives in same apartment she picked out when the apartment complex was only a blue print.
